How to Play Poople

Poople is a daily word ladder. Everyone gets the same four-letter start word, and everyone is heading to the same place: POOP.

The rules

• Change exactly one letter per move. You can’t add, remove or reorder letters.
• Every word along the way must be in the game’s word list.
• Reach POOP in as few moves as you can. A new puzzle starts every day.

An example

Starting from HOOT, change the last letter to make HOOP, then change the first letter to reach POOP. That’s two moves.

Tips for finding a path

• Work backwards. Many words sit one move from POOP, such as POOL, POOF, POMP, PLOP, HOOP, LOOP and PROP. Aim for one of them.
• Get the O’s in place early. Once the middle reads OO, you’re usually close.
• If one position won’t budge, change a different letter first and come back to it.
